Hair Stylist Turned Astrologer: A Journey I Never Saw Coming
I’ve always considered myself a grounded person—patience is one of my superpowers. As a Mars in Taurus, it’s not just a virtue for me; it’s a defining characteristic. While Taurus is often labeled as stubborn, I’ve learned that this quality manifests as an incredible ability to know when to act, pivot, let go, or sometimes stay still. Staying still, however, has never been easy for me. I’m a mover and shaker, naturally juggling multiple interests and finding ways to balance them all.
They say if you have more than three things going on, you have nothing going on, but I believe it’s all about your ability to prioritize. The funny thing is, astrology came knocking at my door when I least expected it. I had always found astrology intriguing, but until then, my knowledge was limited to reading horoscopes in newspapers. Becoming an astrologer, however, was never even on my radar. Then, during the chaos of the COVID-19 pandemic, I thought, “Why not give astrology a go?” What started as a new hobby to pass the time during the three months off from work turned into an obsession, an awakening, and a profound calling.
I figured I’d casually listen to a few astrology podcasts to pass the time. But just three episodes in, something happened—I realized I wasn’t just listening; I was understanding. The concepts, though new, felt strangely familiar—it was like meeting an old friend after a long time apart. Words and ideas I had never encountered before suddenly made sense, and I was absorbing them effortlessly.
It was during that time that I grasped concepts I’d never imagined I would, such as understanding that a sextile is a 60-degree angle between planets that creates a harmonious aspect. This wasn’t as complicated as I thought! Astrology was deeply complex, yet it was rooted in principles I already understood—physics, archetypal patterns, numbers, and sacred geometry. And I loved it. I became completely obsessed. Astrology became my trusted companion during that strange time we all faced. It provided me with a map for understanding the cyclical nature of life and the way history repeats itself, aligning with the principles of sacred geBut what fascinated me most was not just the information, but the innate understanding I had of it. I couldn’t explain why I was so in tune with astrology, why it felt like I had always known it. Over time, I realized that it wasn’t that I had to learn astrology; I had been familiar with it all along. It was like a language I had forgotten how to speak, but once I started, it felt natural.
Looking back, I now understand that my natal chart holds the key to why astrology resonates so deeply with me. It’s like a blockchain of cosmic knowledge embedded within me—an ancient system I had never fully understood, but was always there. It took me time to comprehend, but once I did, everything fell into place.
Astrology has taught me something profound—that you can go to bed one night and wake up feeling completely different. That realization is part of the magic of astrology—it shows you the cycles of transformation. And once you embrace that, life becomes much more fluid and aligned with the natural rhythms of the universe.
I’ve learned never to think I know everything about myself, because life will always surprise you. We think we know ourselves 100%, but I can tell you right now: life, and astrology, will show you that there’s always more to uncover. The journey is about evolving, and until you bring your unconscious self into your awareness, you might never know what truly lies within.
One thing I wasn’t prepared for on this journey was the backlash. I find it fascinating—and honestly a bit amusing—that people can have such strong opinions about astrology when they’ve never studied it or even looked beyond their sun sign. Let’s be clear: reading your daily, weekly, or monthly horoscopes is not astrology. Your sun sign, while a part of your chart, is not the full picture. It offers a generalized, one-size-fits-all approach, and that’s just scratching the surface. Astrology is deeply personal—it’s about your exact time, date, and place of birth. It’s a map of your soul’s journey, and it’s completely unique to you.
If you haven’t yet explored your full natal chart, you’re missing out on something profound. Astrology isn’t just about predicting the future—it’s about understanding the patterns that influence your life, your personality, and your destiny. Once you dive deep into your chart, it’s mind-blowing. In fact, if you really lean into astrology, your astrologer will likely know more about you than anyone, even your primary care physician!
I often joke that an astrologer should sign an NDA—we know more than you might think, and the insights are incredible! Once you begin to trust the process and get your chart read by someone who understands it, you’ll quickly see how astrology can transform your understanding of yourself and your place in the universe.
Astrology entered my life at a time when I least expected it, and it has profoundly transformed my perception of the world. It’s a journey I never saw coming, and yet it feels like something I’ve always been destined to do. It’s given me clarity, purpose, and a profound understanding of the energies that shape our lives.
I’m here to share that knowledge with others, to help them navigate their own paths with the same tools that helped me. If you’re ready to unlock the wisdom of your own chart, I invite you to explore astrology in a way that goes beyond the surface. The universe has a lot to say, and your chart is waiting to help you understand its messages.
Life is constantly evolving, and so are we. Embrace the process of self-discovery through astrology—there’s so much more to learn than you think!
